Money Charger, which runs a cashback service and an IB (introducing broker) business across more than 20 offshore forex brokers, published an account of brokers that failed to pay what was contractually due. Four brokers are named. None of them is a マネチャ partner today.

The cases are useful for two audiences: traders choosing where to open an account, and anyone considering IB work. Below is a summary of what was reported, followed by what we think it says about broker selection.

The cases as reported

BrokerWhat was reported
VTMarketsUnpaid promotion costs, unpaid IB commission, contact with the account manager lost
StarTraderPartnership terminated, referred clients unlinked from the IB, client profit withdrawal refused
ECMarketsUnpaid IB commission
TechFXUnpaid IB commission, contact with the account manager lost

VTMarkets

Promotion costs and IB commission had reportedly been agreed in advance. After the conditions were met, payment was not confirmed, and the contact person stopped responding while the issue was being raised.

Our view: the missing payment is one problem; the loss of a working contact channel is the one that is hardest for an outsider to check in advance. Whether you can reach someone when money is disputed is easy to overlook next to headline terms.

StarTrader

After referred clients generated profit, the partnership was terminated and — according to the report — those clients were unlinked from the IB without prior notice or consent. Withdrawal of client profit was also refused in at least one case.

Our view: a refused withdrawal on ordinary trading activity, without a clear explanation, is the single risk a trader cannot absorb. For an IB, silent unlinking removes both past results and future income at once.

ECMarkets

IB commission that had met the stated conditions was not paid, beyond what could be explained as a temporary settlement delay.

Our view: a headline commission rate means nothing without a settlement record behind it. Payment history and settlement frequency belong in the same comparison as the rate itself.

TechFX

Commission that met the conditions was not paid, and the contact person became unreachable while the matter was being followed up.

Our view: this is the same pattern as VTMarkets. Seeing it twice in a set of four is the part worth noting.

What the four cases have in common

Three of the four involve unpaid commission, and two of those also involve a contact channel going quiet. That combination matters more than either problem alone: a payment dispute is recoverable if someone answers, and unrecoverable if nobody does.

Note also what is not claimed here. These are not regulatory findings, and they are not a verdict on how each broker treats retail clients generally. They are one counterparty's account of its own dealings.

How to use this when choosing a broker

  • Check that support is reachable before you need it. Send a question through the channel you would use in a dispute and see how long a reply takes.
  • Treat withdrawal reports as the primary signal. Spread, leverage and bonuses are marketing; withdrawals are the product.
  • Prefer brokers with a visible settlement track record. For rebates, that means a service that publishes payout history and processes withdrawals on a schedule you can verify.
  • Do not let a large bonus outweigh a thin operating record. The cost of a failed withdrawal is the whole balance.

Frequently asked questions

Are these brokers still listed on マネチャ?

No. VTMarkets, StarTrader, ECMarkets and TechFX are no longer listed on moneycharger.jp.

Does this mean these brokers are scams?

That is not what the report says, and it is not our claim. What was published concerns specific contractual dealings. Read it as one data point about counterparty reliability, not a general verdict.

How do I protect myself against a refused withdrawal?

Withdraw regularly rather than letting a balance build, keep your own record of deposits and trades, complete verification early, and avoid depositing more than you would accept losing to a counterparty failure.
